The University of Southern California is sometimes called the University of Spoiled Children. The college admissions cheating scandal hasn’t helped USC shed that reputation. Some of its coaches and students are named in that scandal. But the university has been trying to recruit students from less privileged backgrounds, and that has created a wealth divide on campus, one that mirrors the larger divide in our country right now.
