The Trump administration is lifting a five-year ban on hydraulic fracking and oil drilling on more than a million acres of federal land across Central California, specifically in Fresno, Kern, Santa Barbara, and Bakersfield counties.

One parcel is near Yosemite, and another near the Sequoia National Park. Environmentalists are outraged, and so is California Attorney General Xavier Becerra, who says he’ll fight it.
