Trump takes aim at UC Berkeley over free speech rights of protestors

President Trump today signed an executive order directing colleges and universities to support free speech, threating to pull their federal funding. California has been at the center of the latest free speech debates. In 2017, student Republicans at UC Berkeley invited conservative provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos to speak on campus, which resulted in a violent backlash, and the cancellation of his appearance. Trump invited members of the Berkeley College Republicans to be at today’s signing.
