California flattens the curve more than other states. What does it mean for reopening the economy?

Coronavirus hospitalizations in California are expected to peak today. Deaths are expected to peak on Wednesday, according to a widely used model by the University of Washington. As of this morning, 681 have died in California, including 300 in LA.

California’s death rate is significantly lower than in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts — even though more people live here than in any other state.
