Air Pollution: The original component of Climate Change

It’s invisible in some places, but dirty air kills millions of people all over the world. That’s even true in America, despite the Clean Air Act and California’s Air Resources Board. But, after Volkswagen’s diesel scandal, Europe can’t brag.

Air pollution leads to premature birth and kills children. It causes asthma, strokes, heart attacks and dementia. In her book, ‘Choked,’ Beth Gardiner describes a deadly global health problem with some 7 million victims annually worldwide. She argues that mitigation requires a change in priorities from private profit to public health.
