Obama Transitions into the Presidency

After a cabinet meeting today, President Bush addressed his staff, massed on the south lawn of the White House, and promised an "unprecedented effort" to make the transition to the Obama Administration a smooth one. He said he'll make sure his successor can hit the ground running.  For his part, Barack Obama has made his first appointment, that of Congressman Rahm Emanuel as his Chief of Staff.
