Republicans in the House Vote to Not Vote on a Payroll Tax Extension

The Republican-dominated House of Representatives today turned down the Senate’s bi-partisan compromise on extending the pay roll tax-cut and unemployment benefits.  Speaker John Boehner reportedly tried to persuade his caucus to go along with the Senate’s two-month deal.
