Fifteen years before the clergy sex abuse scandal came to light, Roger Mahony, then Archbishop of America's largest Roman Catholic Archdiocese, plotted to conceal child molestation by priests from law enforcement. Mahony renewed his public apologies yesterday for what he called, “ignorance, bad decisions and moral failings” he said he did not recognize until visiting with sex-abuse victims in 2006. Michael Rezendes was lead reporter on the Boston Globe's Pulitzer Prize-winning team that uncovered sex abuse among priests in Boston ten years ago.
