A Push for ‘Cougar Crossing’ Over the 101

Hosted by

Mountain lions need space—and, as urban sprawl continues in Southern California, there’s less and less of it. One barrier to survival of a species that needs to be on the move is the freeways that need to be crossed. Now CAL TRANS is becoming a willing participant in a public-private partnership to build a bridge for mountain lions across the 101 Freeway in Agoura Hills, out past Calabasas. Beth Pratt is California Director of the National Wildlife Federation.
