The Roots of Chinese Organized Crime in America

Hosted by  •

Yesterday, State Senator Leland Yee was among those arrested in San Francisco and charged with wire fraud, trafficking in firearms and other federal crimes.  The FBI has released a 137-page complaint complete with the biography of one co-conspirator, 54-year-old Raymond Chow, also called "Shrimp Boy." He is described as the “Dragonhead” of the Ghee Kung Tong — an organization with roots in 17th Century China. Sheldon Zhang is Professor of Sociology at San Diego State University.
