Politicians Party While Depriving Millions of Benefits in Budget Fight

Last Friday, the State Assembly approved a $145 billion budget along with tax breaks for business groups, and went on vacation. However it takes both houses to close the deal. Senate leader Don Perata said the tax bill appeared to be "written by chimpanzees," and Governor Schwarzenegger can't get the two Republicans still needed to vote for the budget.
