A court decision in Vermont has both Governor Schwarzenegger and Attorney General Jerry Brown declaring victory over the Bush Administration. A federal judge ruled yesterday that, to curtail global warming, Vermont can impose tougher standards on auto emissions than the federal government does. California wants to do that too, and it has a similar suit pending in Fresno.
