Santa Barbara Is Divided over Immigration…and Language

Hosted by

On Martin Luther King Day, demonstrators with different views about immigration held competing rallies over terminology in the Santa Barbara News-Press. Reporting on people newly qualified for drivers' licenses in California, the paper's been using the term "illegals." That's led to protests and counter-protests in an increasingly diverse community.
