Surprisingly, Achatz continues to develop dishes at Alinea restaurant in Chicago; he relies on his sous-chefs to taste for him. Max, who recounts eating a unique 24-course meal at Alinea, wrote about Grant Achatz in the May 12 edition of The New Yorker. He is also the author of The Family That Couldn't Sleep: A Medical Mystery.
