In 2017, the culinary history podcast called The Feast looked at the fascinating history of drinking in the South, which includes the origins of eggnog. The Feast is produced and hosted by medievalist and culinary historian Laura Carlson.

Thanks to Laura Carlson of The Feast and the Podglomerate podcast network for sharing this segment with Good Food. The Feast has also just released a new episode continuing this exploration of Virginian alcohol traditions. The podcast’s fourth season premieres January 7th.
