Fanatic! It’s our first show for the month of months. Fanatic October has begun! I’ve been looking forward to this. Last night, I went to see Snooper play a show to celebrate the release of their new album, Worldwide. This was the third time I’ve seen them and they were great. There’s hardly any breaks between songs, just this hyper-onslaught of tunes. The new album is really good and it came out yesterday.

John Dwyer texted me a few days ago, as he does now and then to check in. As a joke, I asked him, “How many records are you going to put out this week?!” John, choosing his words carefully, texted back, “Two.” I thought he was just humoring me. [Editor's note: He was not. Album no. 1, album no. 2.]

The new Upchuck album, I’m Nice Now just came out and it’s really good.

Brendan Canty, the incredibly talented musician and all-around great guy, sent this short feature on the Ruts and Ruts DC to Ian. We watched it and I asked if he could send me the link so I could pass it on to you. Here it is.

If you check our second hour, you’ll see we’re listening to a track by Ron Rude. The guy has an interesting story.

To start our first show for Fanatic October 2025, I thought it best that we commence with my favorite Damned song. A B side! I’ve never heard a live version of this track. Actually, it was a tossup between the Damned and Wire, so I put them next to each other.    I’ve listened to both hours twice now, and I think we have a good balance. I hope you think so and enjoy tonight’s programming. We finished the work on next week’s show two days ago. I’m looking forward to you hearing it. But before that, we’ve got this cool batch of tunes to check out.    Thank you so much for tuning in, have a great night of listening and STAY FANATIC!!!
