Big Thief guitarist Buck Meek has announced a new LP Haunted Mansion to be released in August, 2023. This will be the artist’s third solo album, and his first for indie stalwarts 4AD (also the label home of Big Thief). We’re premiering the album’s title track which was co-written with metaphysically minded songcrafter, Jolie Holland. The punchy, pedal steel guitar-forward country number is a song seeking to understand the immeasurable power of love. “It’s about love and... something other,” says Meek. “Something bigger than love, something that doesn’t challenge love exactly but stands in contrast to it. A soulfulness, or a soul seeking fullness.”
