The rumors are true… Sam Sanders, yes that Sam Sanders is a new member of the KCRW family. The award-winning podcast and radio host — currently of Vibe Check, formerly of NPR stalwarts The NPR Politics Podcast and It’s Been a Minute — has plenty of history on our airwaves, but now we’re making it official with the launch of The Sam Sanders Show.

On his KCRW program, Sam (and friends) will dig in on all the things we obsess over in our free time: TV and movies, music and celebrities, Internet and memes, and the people who make it. No topic is too big or small. And nothing’s off limits.

And speaking of music, Sam is one of our favorite tastemakers. Having him in for a second MBE guest selector session ahead of the show’s on-air debut was non-negotiable. Scroll on for his current recs which include the “stop-you-in-your-tracks” beauty of Tiny Habits, the jaw-dropping vocal prowess of LaBelle, and a track from an artist that may or may not be his dream musical guest for The Sam Sanders Show… Click that player button on this page to hear him breaking it all down with his IRL super friend, Novena.

Find The Sam Sanders Show on YouTube, KCRW.com and the KCRW app, and Fridays at noon/Saturdays at 11 a.m. on your radio dial.
