May 2, 2023

Get your ears on the funky-as-hell new single “Jimmy,” from FREAKS ONLY fave Tolliver before it officially drops this Thursday. It’s not technically a premiere since true heads will recognize the track from Tolliver’s live shows, but this is the only place where you can hear it recorded for the time being.

Uk pianoman Matt Maltese’s new album Driving Just To Drive finds him teaming with similarly minded indie-jazz futurist Biig Piig for the deliciously meandering “Coward,” and you’ll hear it in the mix. Plus, we keep coming back to UK-rapper ENNY’s We Go Again, a particularly deep Swedish psychedelic-gospel-funk cut from the 2022 compilation FRÄLST! - A Selection of Swedish Christian grooves 1969-1979, and the latest from local hero Captain Planet ahead of his new LP Sounds Like Home (due June 2 via Bastard Jazz Recordings).
