Venezuela in crisis: Juan Guaidó calls for overthrow of President Maduro

Violent clashes between anti-government protesters and military forces erupted today in Venezuela. It appeared to be an attempted coup. Videos showed tanks mowing over people in the streets and soldiers using tear gas to break up crowds. The clashes came hours after opposition leader Juan Guaidó called on civilians to oust President Nicolas Maduro, and for the military to defect. Guaidó called it the “final phase of Operation Liberty.”
