Democrats’ efforts to subpoena Trump’s financial records

House Democrats are trying to head off President Trump’s efforts to block them from seeing some his bank records. Two committees have formally told a federal court they need to intervene in a lawsuit that Trump and his children filed to stop Deutsche Bank and Capital One from cooperating with subpoenas.

Also, California lawmakers have sent Governor Gavin Newsom a bill that would block presidential candidates from appearing on the state primary ballot unless they turned over five years of their tax returns. This is clearly aimed at President Trump.
