A new Trump administration rule says legal immigrants must forgo all public programs like food stamps and Medicaid if they want to become U.S. citizens. Alternately, they could keep using those public aid programs and never be granted citizenship. The new rule is expected to have a big impact on California, where there are many recent immigrants. California Attorney General Xavier Becerra says he’ll sue to block it. We look at how the rule would affect the state’s immigrant community.
