The Politicization of Mass Shootings

Hosted by

In the aftermath of the terrible tragedy in Orlando, a familiar pattern has emerged – Democrats are calling for new gun laws and Republicans are calling for a crackdown on terrorists. That divide played out in the reactions of the two presumptive presidential candidates. In a speech in Cleveland Monday, Hillary Clinton called for Americans to be united and she called for some sort of restrictions on the ownership of assault weapons. In his speech Monday, Donald Trump said that today’s administration is hampered by political correctness and called for a suspension of immigration from countries where there is “proof of terrorism.”
