“Lateral cooking” is about finding roads to new recipes

There are home cooks who heavily rely on their intuition, taking an idea behind one recipe and using it to birth another. It’s a mysterious, creative process that many writers have tried to explain with varying levels of success.

Niki Segnit is a cookbook author and food writer recently spoke with Good Food about her attempts to demystify this process in her new book, called “Lateral Cooking.”
