This week Murray Family Farms is back at the Santa Monica Farmers' Marketwith Brooks cherries, white peaches and yellow nectarines. Owner Steve Murray says his cherry crop is about 10% of normal due to water shortages and extreme heat.

Ice cream chef Shiho Yoshikawa was thrilled to find both cherries and papayas (more on that next week) at Wednesday’s market. She is also using spring herbs in her seasonal ice creams and sorbets at her Sweet Rose Creamery.
