- Newsmaker: Judge Halts Work on Billboards
STI/Outdoor has been slapped with a temporary restraining order that prevents it from constructing 25 new billboards along LA freeways. City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo, criticized during last year's election for taking free advertising from the billboard industry, requested the TRO against one of the companies that didn't give him free advertising. Delgadillo says he's just trying to clean up billboard blight.

One of LA's best-known landmarks is closing down for repairs. This weekend is the last time you'll be able to watch the stars from the Griffith Observatory, at least for the next three years. Director Edward Krupp, has a preview of the renovations that will allow expand LA's 65-year old window to the heavens.
