Ninety-five percent of California's coastal waters are safe for swimming. But the beaches in urban areas, like LA, Orange County and San Diego, can be dangerously polluted. And the worst are the so-called "baby beaches." Those sheltered inlets where waves don't knock little kids down are also stagnant stews of bacteria that are dangerous to their health.
  • Newsmaker: Are Actors Getting a Deal? - 50,000 camera operators, sound technicians, grips, make-up artists and other skilled workers are waiting for 135,000 actors to make their deals with the film and TV studios. But the deadline's tomorrow at midnight, and there's no agreement yet.
