The streets around Tulum’s beaches are lined with trendy bars, wellness spas, and expensive hotels. It’s become a stop on the international DJ circuit and music festival scene. But the old Tulum, which just a decade ago billed itself as a little-known escape from the excess of nearby Cancun, is dead.
