The 9th Circuit court last week unanimously blocked a new San Francisco law that would have required sugary beverages to have labels warning consumers about their health risks. Beverage companies successfully argued that the law violates their freedom of speech. Also, the Supreme Court has temporarily put on hold a Louisiana law that requires doctors who perform abortions to have admitting privileges at local hospitals.
