Feeding Antibiotics to Chickens, Creating Superbugs for Humans?

The World Health Organization reports that resistance to antibiotics threatens a major achievement of modern medicine. Now, the Reuters News Service has reported that five major American chicken producers consistently feed their flocks low levels of antibiotics—a formula for creating antibiotic resistance.

The World Health Organization reports that resistance to antibiotics threatens a major achievement of modern medicine. Now, the Reuters News Service has reported that five major American chicken producers consistently feed their flocks low levels of antibiotics—a formula for creating antibiotic resistance. The evidence is contained on “feed tickets” from Tyson’s Foods, Pilgrims’ Pride, George’s, Koch Foods and Perdue Farms, and it’s information federal regulators did not know.
