Dengue Fever

LA's own Dengue Fever brings their wildly catchy brand of Cambodian indie-rock to this year's Masquerade. Weaving an intricate tapestry of wide-ranging influences - from driving rock to Afro groove to garage psych - all with the haunting vocals of Chhom Nimol, Dengue Fever's spooky sound is sure to set the perfect Halloween mood.

Mariachi El Bronx

Mariachi El Bronx is the alter ego of the acclaimed Los Angeles based punk rock band the Bronx.  The music bristles with intensity, drama and emotion-hallmarks of both mariachi and punk music.  Frontman Matt Caughthran grew up listening to Black Flag and Los Lobos and Mariachi El Bronx was born with that in mind.  The chaos of their exotic culture clash is a huge part of the draw, so you can expect the unexpected and catch them fresh off their tour dates opening for the Foo Fighters.

Milagres

New York indie rockers Milagres have a big, moody sound that will haunt the halls of the Park Plaza -- soaring falsetto amid piano-based melodies that create dark dreamy songs with a punch. Their beautiful, mesmerizing tunes will have the crowd captivated and the thumping electronic grooves at each song’s core will keep the costumed masses grooving. Jason Bentley has been championing this band all year and this will be one of their only LA performances. With comparisons to artists as diverse as Grizzly Bear and Prince, we expect a “can’t miss” performance from this group.

RAC (DJ set)

RAC is an incredibly talented group of musicians/producers that has created hundreds of remixes for artists like Phoenix, Bloc Party Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Theophilus London and many more. You hear their work all the time on KCRW and we've invited founder Andre Allen Anjos to join us for a special DJ set. Andre takes RAC's traditional remix theory to the DJ booth --mixing, altering, and combining tracks in the moment, feeding off of the crowd.
