Coco Mbassi grew up in Cameroun, where she won first prize in a singing contest at the age of eight. She-s sung with Salif Keita, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Manu Dibango, and others. In l996, she was awarded the Prix D-couverte by Radio France International. Mbassi talks about about her religiously infused songs of love, friendship and family life. (http://www.coco-mbassi.com/)
