There’s word today that veteran ABC News personality Barbara Walters is set to announce her retirement. The 84-year old Walters helped create the daytime TV show The View, for which she has co-hosted on and off for more than 16 years. Walters will reportedly stay on through May of next year, while helping through the transition of a couple of other high profile exits on the program. Co-hosts Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Joy Behar are both leaving The View. There has been no confirmation, however, from ABC. For more on this developing story, KCRW's Steve Chiotakis speaks with Michael Schneider, Los Angeles Bureau Chief for TV Guide magazine.
