FROM THIS EPISODE

Last night, state and federal courts rejected appeals on behalf of Stanley "Tookie" Williams. Today, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger denied clemency. Williams is scheduled to die by lethal execution at a minute past midnight for the brutal murders of four people in 1979. The Governor issued a five-page statement saying evidence shows Williams to be a "cold blooded killer" who laughed and boasted about his victims--despite William's claim of innocence. In fact, Schwarzenegger says "it is impossible to separate Williams' claim of innocence from his claim of redemption." We hear about the Governor's statement, get a report from San Quentin and look at the political implications.
