    If you make less than $66,000 a year, you can use a tax preparer like TurboTax or H&R Block for free. These companies are required to offer free tax filing services to lower income Americans, but they’ve made it difficult for taxpayers to find out. That’s according to a recent ProPublica investigation.

    Also, the free filing option is just one thing that’s confusing and complicated about taxes in the United States. Many countries don’t even have tax season, or their citizens receive one simple form they need to sign.
