Alan Horn Named New Head of Disney

Today, veteran movie executive Alan Horn was named Chairman and CEO of the Walt Disney Studios. Until last year, Horn was President and COO of Warner Bros, overseeing The Dark Knight and the Harry Potter franchises. He'd been at that studio for 12 years until being let go by Jeff Bewkes. Since leaving Warners, Horn has taken a producer role on the upcoming Peter Jackson film, The Hobbit. Horn now takes over Disney, which includes its Pixar and Marvel divisions, under enormous scrutiny following the devastating financial losses off John Carter, which led to the ouster of Rich Ross, the former head of Disney.
