Barbie dolls are worth approximately three billion dollars a year to Mattel, based in El Segundo. But Bratz dolls, made by MGA Entertainment in Van Nuys, are giving Barbie a run for the money. Mattel has gone into federal court, claiming that Bratz were thought up by a designer while he was working for Mattel.
