Community refrigerators are percolating across the city for people who’ve lost income and lack reliable transportation. Residents stock these fridges with fruit, veggies, dairy, prepared meals, and pantry items. The food is all free for those who need it. Marina Vergara and Kennedy Mitchell are organizers behind LA Community Fridges. There are locations in Exposition Park, South Central, Leimert Park, Long Beach, Highland Park, and Arlington Heights.
