Even before COVID-19 wreaked economic havoc on restaurants across the country, the pandemic was hurting Chinese restaurants. Unfounded fear and outright racism had drastically reduced business. Then these restaurants were forced to close when the shelter-in-place order was announced. For KCRW, Phoenix Tso reported on  how restaurants in Chinatown and the San Gabriel Valley are faring now that doors are once again open.
