“Mine is the story of a gay immigrant, told through food,” writes Nik Sharma, who originally came to the U.S. from Mumbai to study genetics. Sharma began chronicling his home cooking efforts online as a creative outlet, which resulted in a widely read food blog called “A Brown Table.” Now he’s written and photographed his first cookbook, “Season,” a deeply autobiographical collection of recipes mapping his journey from India to America.
